A dining experience like no other. In a home like no other.

Scarpetta is a seasonal, multi-course dining experience hosted in a newly renovated historic home in North Hobart, Tasmania.

Created by chefs who cook with instinct, heritage and heart, each menu is a one-off shaped by the season, the produce, the stories behind the food and creative inclinations at the time.

Scarpetta is a shared table experience with exquisite food and true hospitality.

Come in, take a seat, take your time, and let us look after you.

  • “Fantastic traditional Italian experience with a Tasmanian twist. Couple this with fresh ingredients some from Ivano's beautiful garden and Ivano's warm hospitality this makes for a great night out!"

    Brian

  • "Our dinner at Scarpetta was like being welcomed home by an Italian Nonna who has made every dish with love and a lifetime of skill. Except the nonna is a charming, dapper bloke with impeccable taste and a fine sense of humour."

    Guy, Sandy Bay

  • "It’s impossible to name a single standout — every dish was exceptional. From the snapper with braised fennel and Pet Nat caviar sauce to the silken tiramisu that closed the night, each course was generous, surprising, and cooked with heart."

Enter as strangers, leave as friends.

Restaurants can be special places.

They can be places of real memory-making.

They should be open to the spontaneous and genuine in feel.

They need to be about love and laughter, about giving and receiving, about sharing, and even discovery.

A time to stop, just a little.

To breathe.

People go to restaurants to celebrate, to relax, to not think about anything else for a minute, to feel less lonely, to be taken care of and nurtured.

I see this as a way of nurturing, I guess.

The gardens, the suppliers, the creatives and helpers… and you.

And I guess the best vehicle for that is through a much loved home.

And so here we are.

And in all of this, I haven’t even mentioned the food.
